What we did:
For a digital pathology medical device manufacturing client, imbued scanning software with a first-read tumor finding capability. Model finds tumors on digitized H&E and IHC-stained slides allowing pathologists to sort their queue of cases by 4 classes from benign to suspicious for several cancer indications.
How it works:

Why it matters:
Building an AI capability in the breast cancer indication, as a proof-of-concept, catalyzed the initiative to expand menu to other indications. Expanding menu allowed client to build a moat around their digital pathology solution and gain leverage when negotiating with developer partners in the ecosystem. Ultimately, our client benefited from increased device placements, concomitant consumable sales commitments, and preserving premium pricing.
